RESUME

Biography​​

 

Emily most recently designed props for Cabrillo Stage's Urinetown (the Musical). EmJ is a Santa Cruz native, and her work on such Cabrillo College productions, such as StreamersThe Grapes of Wrath, and PL8, led to her being hired as a props intern for Cabrillo Stage's

Scrooge (2009). Since then, she has assistant stage managed Cabrillo Stage's I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change (2010), Scrooge (2010), Hairspray (2011), A Chorus Line (2012), Lunch (2014), and stage managed Cabrillo College's Death (2013), The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (2013), the Performing Arts Collective's Dinner with the MacGuffins (2013), Los Altos Stage Company's Harold and Maude (2014),  Fox on the Fairway (2014), and Cabrillo Stage's Putting It Together (2014). Her next project will be stage managing School House Rock LIVE! this summer at Cabrillo Stage, running July 10th through August 8th, 2015.

Properties Master - Urinetown (the Musical)
​Cabrillo Stage, December 2014 - January 2015

Directed by Andrew Ceglio. 

 

Duties include, but not limited to, pulling hand props and furniture, building hand props, and buying props, special effects, and furniture to be used for show and added to the warehouse stock. Made myself available to fix and adjust props during pre-production, show run, and strike at close of the show.

 

 

Stage Manager - Fox on the Fairway

Directed by Dan P. Wilson. 

 

Act as liason between director, actors, production and design staff. Run production meetings, rehearsals, and run lights, sound, and video/projection boards during performaces. Build rehearsal schedule each week for actors, updated as necessary and send email notifications of updates. Also kept rehearsal reports of all rehearsals and performance reports for every performance during run of show. 

 

 

Stage Manager - Putting It Together

Directed by Mickey Mcgushin. 

 

Act as liason between director, musical director, actors, production and design staff. Run production meetings, rehearsals, and call lights, sound, and actor cues during performaces. Build rehearsal schedule each week for actors, updated as necessary and send email notifications of updates, and while communicating with the Company Manager and Stage Manager of other two productions to coordinate available rehearsal spaces. Also kept rehearsal reports of all rehearsals and performance reports for every performance during run of show.

Deck manager, in charge of set changes and actor movements during transitions. Line notes for Stage Manager. Kept careful attention to dimensions of set design for outside rehearsal spaces, and ran all music rehearsals. Main fly operator, and in charge of actor safety on deck during tech and performance run of show.
